Deleted a site by mistake?
Deleting a site here does not erase it. It goes to the trash on your Sites page for 30 days, and you can put it back yourself.
Putting it back
Sites → the trash section at the bottom → Restore.
While a site is in the trash, everything is still there: the pages, the pictures, the settings, and the address. Nobody else can take your address during those 30 days.
What restoring does about money
This is the part people worry about, so the button tells you before you press it. One of four things is true, and the exact sentence for your site is shown on the row:
- The subscription resumes. The site goes back on your bill and renews on its usual date at its usual price. You can stop that again any time.
- The paid term only. Deleting ended the subscription, so restoring does not start it again. The site comes back live until the end of the term you already paid for, then stops unless you set billing up again.
- Renewal stays off. You had already stopped this site's renewal before deleting it, so restoring leaves it stopped.
- It comes back as a draft. Its paid term has run out, so the site returns unpublished with everything intact. Nothing is charged until you publish it again.
Nothing here starts a charge you were not shown first.
When Restore will not work
Two reasons, both explained on the row:
- You are at your site limit. New accounts can have three sites at once. Delete or stop one of the others and Restore becomes available again. (If you need more than three, ask us — it is free and we just want to know a human is behind the account.)
- The site is paused. Occasionally a site is held while something is looked into. Restore is unavailable until it clears. Write to us and we will tell you what we can.
After 30 days
The site is erased. The pages, the pictures, the versions, the form messages and the bookings all go, and the address is released — anybody can then take it.
This is not recoverable. Not by you, and not by us. We email you when a site is moved to the trash and again when it is erased, so it never happens silently.

Deleting on purpose
If you meant it, the same 30 days apply, which is your safety net either way. And if what you actually want is to stop paying without losing the site, that is a different button: see Stopping renewal, deleting, and refunds.
