Editing on a phone or tablet
The short version: everything except the editor works on a phone. The editor itself wants a laptop-sized screen.
What works fine on a phone
- Signing in, and everything in your portal — your sites, billing, settings, domains.
- Reading form messages, confirming and declining bookings, and looking at orders.
- Publishing a site you have already edited, and paying for it.
- Viewing and sharing your live site.
The editor wants a wider screen
The editor puts your pages and blocks on one side, the page in the middle, and the settings for whatever you have selected on the other. Those three columns need roughly the width of a small laptop — about 1,100 pixels — to sit beside each other. On a phone they do not fit, and dragging blocks around needs a mouse pointer rather than a fingertip.
So: build the site on a computer, then run it from your phone. That is the honest state of it today, and it is on the list to fix.
If a laptop is not available, a tablet in landscape with a keyboard is usually workable.
Making sure your site looks right on a phone
This is the part people actually mean, and it is fully supported — from a computer.
At the top of the editor's preview there is a width control: Phone, Tablet, Small desktop, Desktop, and a slider for anything in between. Switch to Phone and you are looking at exactly what a visitor on a phone will get. Every design here is built to work at every width.
Different wording on phones
At phone width the editor offers a toggle: Typing changes → every screen / phones only.
Set it to phones only and the words you type replace the desktop wording on phones alone — the desktop version stays as it was. It is for the heading that reads beautifully at full width and runs to four lines on a phone.
Make the phone wording identical to the desktop wording again and the override is removed.
Styling for phones
Block styling — spacing, size, alignment — has Desktop, Tablet and Phone tabs in the right-hand column, so a stripe that is too tall on a phone can be tightened there without touching the desktop layout.
A note on visitors
Most of your visitors will be on phones. It is worth spending five minutes at Phone width before you publish, on the home page and your contact page, reading the site the way most people will actually meet it.
